The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience. The sonic specialists at Alpine optimize their SPS-610 6-3/4" speakers for great range and impressive tone definition, even at low power levels. You can connect these versatile Type-S Series speakers to your factory stereo for an immediate sonic improvement, or hook them up to a powerful aftermarket stereo or amp for increased performance. Mica adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability. Silk Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" Wide-Range Silk Dome Tweeter for smooth high frequencies. The tweeters also swivel up to 10° so you can optimize them based on your listening position. Efficient Design: The SPS-610's high-efficiency design allows the speaker to be powered by your factory or aftermarket head unit, resulting in an easy system improvement for many vehicles requiring 6-1/2" or 6-3/4" speakers. Mounting: Without an adapter, the SPS-610 speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets the SPS-610s can be mounted in a variety of standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, Ford 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and non-standard 6-3/4" applications, without any modification. No Grilles: No grilles are included with these speakers. Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) The speakers work fine. The supplied adapters were not big enough, so used both adapters the free ones and the ones that came with the speakers. I felt better hooking the speakers with the alpine adapters they had bigger screws. The free ones had pretty little ones to connect the speakers. Pros: The speakers have clear sound from my Clarion head unit. I have them matched with SPR 6x9 and they are a good match. Cons: none yet Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 SPS-610 install and performance Written By Mike M, 06057 on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Ordered speakers, adapter plate and wiring adapter for easy install in rear doors of 2011 Jetta TDI. The depth of the speakers 2 1/4 work with the recess within the door. It might permit a deeper speaker but these fit fine. The only notable comment is that when the speaker is mounted flush to thrle inner metal panel of the door is that there is a small gap at the top that needs to be closed out(velcro works) As for the sound..great though even when the mids and highs are adjusted i would prefer a separarte tweeter SPS610c. Might cost a bit more.. I might do that for my front ones. But all in all the sound is great and the price is right and you limit your exposure to any install issues. Pros: Fit within car..fantastic Sound. Mid and bass great Cons: Wish there was just a little more highs. But if you want everything be prepared for not only the cost of the speaker..but its installation Was this review helpful? Hey, what can I say, these are Alpines! Legendary Alpine clarity with rich deep lows, great mid range, and infinite highs. These SPS 610s are being used as rear speakers in a SAAB 9000 Aero Hatchback. Just to give props to the whole system, the stereo is simple, a Clarion NZ 500 receiver , two 4" Alpines in the front, a 150 watt Fosgate amp powering a 10" Pioneer sub in the hatch. Not overly complicated but sounds better than the factory Bose in my CTS, and tons better than the my Lexus' system. The speakers range is clear and feedback free all the way up to max. Yes | No 3 out of 5 Alpine SPS-610 Written By Anonymous, Glasgow, KY on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I bought these speakers a year or so ago. One the of the reasons I got them was because they were buy on get one half off. I should have just spent the money and got a set of pioneers. I agree with some of the other reviews about them being muddy. There is no crispness to them. There is also a lack of bass. My receiver sends just the low frequencies to the back two just to get any bass out of them. I thought there might be a break in time but one year later and they still disappoint. 1 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 These are the starting point of quality sound Written By Rex, Arkansas on Saturday, November 02, 2013 These speakers are very close to what you get in an "upgraded" factory stereo as far as the sound. Not as good as Bose, but genuinely good sound. It doesn't bother me at all to go from my 1200 watt, high end focals and subwoofer in my truck to my cheap little car with just two of these Alpines. The reason I like them so much is that they are not overly bright or harsh. Sure, you can't hear the lead singer blink his eyes like you can on the focals, but you can listen to them for 12 hours on the road to every kind of music without needing a break. After reading some of the reviews, it is obvious that people buying lower end speakers like these are not willing to install them properly for good sound. Make no mistake, these are good enough to require a solid mount and some dynamat (or peel and seal from home depot). This will eliminate the "muddiness" some people are getting and allow you to hear what a basic speaker should sound like. Also, when installed properly, you can get some good bass out of these. My bass is set on 3 out of 6 and these things do just fine, and I'm used to a 12" sub. Personally, I love good music in my car, and these represent the starting point for good music in my opinion. Don't get the wal-mart noise makers, spend the extra $20 and get a pair of these (or at least something as good). I am running these in the front doors of a 98 Toyota Carolla from the cheapest alpine head unit (17 Watts RMS). Full dynamat on both front doors. Pros: Cheap, not harsh or peaky, balanced, smooth, warm, easy to listen to, generally enjoyable to most everyone for any type of music, best $100 speaker I've heard Cons: Instruments tend to run together when played simultaneously, highs are so soft that snare drums sometimes sound like a baby sneezing, imaging is almost non-existent, all the common limitations of $100 speakers without all the harsh, unnatural, unbalanced traits you usually get Was this review helpful? Yes | No 3 out of 5 Well, not the Alpine I expected Written By DCRT08, Grand Rapids, MI on Thursday, October 03, 2013 First and foremost I'm happy to do business with Crutchfield because they're always very helpful. It costs money to have experts on staff to serve customers so I don't even mind paying a little more at Crutchfield, but usually their prices are competitive anyway. My setup is a Pioneer deck using the RCA outputs to an Alpine KTP-445A power pack, then to a pair of SPS-610s and a pair of SPS 406s. I've predominantly used Alpine products for 30 years but I have to say that I think Alpine isn't what it used to be. While these speakers aren't the priciest around, they're in the same price range as some that perform better. These speakers tend to sound muddy and they aren't terribly responsive. Even when taking into account the speaker size, the bass performance is pretty poor. Forget getting anything out of them for low frequencies. They also are not very efficient so the recommendation is don't try these unless you have a separate amp even if it is a small one. I first installed the deck and amp then made sure that worked before replacing the factory speakers in my truck. If you can believe it, the factory speakers performed better in many ways than the Alpines did. In all I'd say these speakers are "ok" but I'd look to a different brand that is at least more efficient before settling on these. I'd return them but they don't sound bad enough for me to go through the hassle of removing and replacing them. I think Alpine needs to step it up. Pros: Seem to be made well. Cons: Muddy sound, poor responsiveness, and not efficient. 1 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? However, what I have heard and seen. You could not go wrong with these speakers for your stock stereo system. However, if your just looking to make a change of speakers and your stock speakers are working. I would wait and I would save my money up until I could get a "Quality" Alpine AMP to put with these speakers. Most factory Systems are not so good that I might even save up until I could also get a New Factory Head unit. However, if your factory speakers are blown then take a look at the SPS series and the SPR series and by you a pair of which ever one fits your wallet the best.

5 out of 5 work fine Written By triley, Odem,tx. on Friday, May 16, 2014 Installed in a 2010 Toyota Corolla Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) The speakers work fine. Yes | No
5 out of 5 SPS-610 install and performance Written By Mike M, 06057 on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Ordered speakers, adapter plate and wiring adapter for easy install in rear doors of 2011 Jetta TDI. Yes | No
4 out of 5 SPS 610 Written By saabsuperaero1, Butler, PA on Monday, April 21, 2014 Installed in a 1994 Saab 9000 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Hey, what can I say, these are Alpines! Pros: Great sound. Cons: Wish Alpine had a 6 X 9. Was this review helpful? Yes | No

3 out of 5 Alpine SPS-610 Written By Anonymous, Glasgow, KY on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I bought these speakers a year or so ago. Yes | No
4 out of 5 These are the starting point of quality sound Written By Rex, Arkansas on Saturday, November 02, 2013 These speakers are very close to what you get in an "upgraded" factory stereo as far as the sound. 3 out of 5 Well, not the Alpine I expected Written By DCRT08, Grand Rapids, MI on Thursday, October 03, 2013 First and foremost I'm happy to do business with Crutchfield because they're always very helpful. Yes | No

5 out of 5 Excellent Speakers Written By Anonymous, Oakland, CA on Saturday, September 14, 2013 Installed in a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Just excellent, no-nonsense speakers. The built-in crossover makes sure the tweeter is not overdriven by low frequencies and the woofer has the punch it needs. Sounds better than similarly priced component systems. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No
