The flax connection
If you’ve heard Focal speakers, then you know that their reputation for quality is well-deserved. Focal designers never hesitate to think outside the box when it comes to speaker innovation. To create their Performance Series speakers and subs, for example, they spent five years developing a super-lightweight, extra-rigid cone material made from a layer of flax fibers sandwiched between two layers of glass fibers. You get the warmth of natural fiber combined with the supreme accuracy of a more rigid cone material.
Impressive performance
Focal Performance Sub P 30F 12″ sub delivers pristine performance, using its 2″ voice coil and double magnets to handle up to 400 watts RMS. It works equally well in sealed or ported enclosures, so it’s a great candidate for big bass in a variety of applications. If you’re putting together a system, make sure to take a look at the Focal component speaker systems that feature the same “Flax Sandwich” cones.
